Project Description: Viewpoint School, a private Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade (TK-12) school located at 23620 Mulholland Highway in the City of Calabasas (APN 2072-003-026), proposes construction and operation of a new outdoor amphitheater within its existing 19-acre campus. The Project would include a terraced hillside amphitheater with seating for approximately 531 persons, including accessible seating, a performance bandshell, control booth, pedestrian bridge crossing Dry Canyon Creek, boardwalk with an outdoor classroom area, and relocation of the existing school garden and chicken coop.  The Project would not increase student enrollment or school capacity and would not result in an increase in the number of students or staff on campus. The amphitheater would serve as an alternate venue for existing school programs and events currently held in other on-campus facilities. 

The City of Calabasas, Community Development Department has completed the preparation of a Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for the Viewpoint Amphitheater Project and intends to present the document for adoption as part of Project review. The IS/MND has been prepared in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
