What is Clean Power Alliance (CPA)?

Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is the publicly owned not-for-profit electricity provider that provides clean renewable energy to many municipalities across Los Angeles and Ventura counties, including the homes and businesses here in Calabasas. CPA is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of an elected official from each of its member agencies, including one councilmember from the City of Calabasas.

The City of Calabasas became a member of Clean Power Alliance (CPA) in 2017. Belonging to CPA allows Calabasas residents and businesses to choose what percentage of the electricity they purchase will be generated from clean renewable energy sources. CPA’s Lean Power energy option provides 40% clean power. The Clean Power energy option provides 50% clean power, and the 100% Green Power energy option provides 100% renewable energy.

Does the City of Calabasas decide the amount of clean power for all its residents?

The City of Calabasas sets the default rate of clean renewable electricity for its residents and businesses.  The city has chosen CPA’s 100% Green Power energy option as its default rate.  As such, unless Calabasas customers choose to change their energy option (or opt-out of CPA) their account will be automatically enrolled in CPA’s 100% Green Power energy option.

Enrolling in the 100% Green Power tier is too expensive for me, what can I do?

CPA offers several bill assistance programs for its customers. Visit here to learn more and see if you qualify.

Customers may also opt down to a lower energy option (or opt out of CPA service and choose SCE as the generation provider for their electricity service). Customers can make this change at any time by notifying CPA online or by calling them toll free at 888-585-3788.

I am a CPA customer, so why do I still get bills from Edison?

While CPA purchases clean renewable energy on your behalf, SCE continues to send your utility bill, deliver your electricity, provide maintenance services, and resolve any service issues.

Who can I contact if I have questions?

You may contact CPA customer service by calling toll free at 888-585-3788 or by emailing customerservice@cleanpoweralliance.org. You may also contact the City of Calabasas at: 818-224-1600.
