The City  Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) provides a science and engineering-based assessment of the wildfire threat in the wildland urban interface (WUI) of the City of Calabasas. A CWPP is developed through a collaborative process involving city officials, Los Angeles County Fire Department, surrounding fire agencies, county officials, county, state, and federal land management agencies, HOAs and other community members.

The CWPP meets requirements set forth in the federal Healthy Forests Restoration Act, which include:

• Identifying and prioritizing areas for fuel reduction activities
• Stakeholder collaboration
• Addressing structural ignitability
