What to Know Before Hiring a Vendor at a City of Calabasas Park or Facility
In accordance with City of Calabasas Municipal Ordinance No. 2024-405, a permit or reservation is required for use of any on-site services such as bounce houses, taco carts, and character appearances at a City of Calabasas park or facility.
All parties are required to comply with the City's regulations and meet the minimum insurance requirements in order to minimize liability exposure and protect taxpayer assets.
INSURANCE
Patrons with a reservation or permit have the freedom to hire their preferred vendors, provided they meet the insurance requirements and comply with City policies.
As a courtesy, the City maintains a list of service providers who currently meet the minimum insurance requirements. This list becomes available to patrons after they complete the initial booking process and submit the required deposit.
Vendors must be verified by the City's Rental Division no less than 30 days before the event.
PROHIBITED SERVICES/ACTIVITIES
When choosing a vendor, note the following is prohibited at City parks and facilities:
- Bull horns
- Colored Powder
- Confetti or Glitter
- Dunk Tanks
- Fog / Smoke Machines
- Motorized Equipment
- Outdoor Amplification
- Open flame Cooking
- Ponies / Petting Zoos
- Rock Climbing Walls
- Snow or ice attractions
- Silly String
- Trampolines
- Water Balloons
- Water or Gel Beads (“Orbeez”)
- Waterslides/water-based attractions
Food trucks and gaming trucks are prohibited at City parks & facilities with the exception of the Calabasas Community Center and Civic Center when authorized as part of a facility rental.
City Staff reserves the right to prohibit any attractions, services, or equipment with potential to damage property or threaten the safety of others.
BOUNCE HOUSES & INFLATABLE ATTRACTIONS
- Bounce houses / inflatable attractions are restricted to park facilities and may be no larger than 25’ x 25’ in size.
- Electricity is NOT provided for outdoor rentals. Renters must secure generators for any outdoor equipment requiring power.
- It is the responsibility of the renter to coordinate delivery, set-up, and breakdown of equipment within paid rental hours.
