Film permits are required for any production filming or still shoots within the Calabasas City limits.
For information on film permit requirements, please refer to the Application Checklist, Frequently Asked Questions, and Film Permit Process Flow Chart before you submit your Film Permit Application to filmpermit@cityofcalabasas.com.
To determine whether the proposed site is within Calabasas City limits, use the City of Calabasas Community Viewer GIS.
Filming permit application processing can take 3-5 business days depending on the scope of the production and other regulatory agency approvals. Once an application has been submitted, all film permits will be required to apply for a separate permit through the LA County Fire Prevention Division.
If your project involves the use of public right-of-way (streets, sidewalks, etc.), then please allow 2-3 weeks for processing, as additional public safety agencies may need to review the film permit application.
