CITY COUNCIL REORGANIZATION
The Calabasas City Council conducted its annual reorganization during its Dec. 10, 2025, meeting, marking a transition in leadership with the appointment of James R. Bozajian as Mayor and Edward Albrecht as Mayor Pro Tem.
During the meeting, outgoing Mayor Peter Kraut was also recognized for his leadership and service to the City over the past year.
The Calabasas City Council meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Agendas, meeting materials, and additional information are available on the City’s webpage.
CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING
WM will continue collecting live Christmas trees throughout the coming week. Before placing your tree out on your regularly scheduled collection day, please remove all lights, ornaments, tinsel, and tree stands. Trees taller than six feet should be cut into smaller sections to ensure proper collection.

2026 COMMUNITY RECYCLING AWARENESS CALENDAR
The 2026 Annual Recycling Calendars are now available for pickup at City Hall. Calendars will be distributed to each participating K-8 school!
Plans are also underway for a special recognition ceremony honoring the 14 students whose artwork was selected for the 2026 calendar.

E-WASTE COLLECTION - JAN. 3
The City, in partnership with California Recycles, offers free E-Waste collections on the first Saturday of the month at the Albertsons Shopping Center Back Parking Lot, 26521 Agoura Road. This is an opportunity for residents to properly dispose of items such as TVs, monitors, printers, cell phones, laptops, keyboards, and servers.

To celebrate the New Year, we're making it easier to ride with Calabasas Flyer. Between Dec. 22nd and Jan. 30th, we will expand our Microtransit Program from just the weekends to the entire week.

2026 HOMELESS COUNT
The 2026 Homeless Count will occur on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 8 p.m. The area’s main deployment site is the Calabasas Senior Center. This event involves pairing up with two or three individuals to canvass certain areas of the community via car to visually report on sightings of homeless individuals or encampments. The total time commitment for the evening is approximately three hours.

TECH HELP AT THE SENIOR CENTER
The Senior Center’s Tech Help program has been recognized in the Technology, Virtual, and Hybrid Programing category by the annual Programs of Excellence contest, hosted by the National Council on Aging and the National Institute of Senior Centers.
Tech Help is free and takes place on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on a drop-in basis, no appointment needed. Community high school students help seniors improve their skills on cell phones, laptops, iPads and tablets.

Council Agenda Items are available online the Wednesday prior to a City Council Meeting. Agendas for all commissions are available online the Friday prior to the commission meeting. All City Council meetings and commission meetings take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 100 Civic Center Way in Calabasas.
