Peter Kraut has lived in Calabasas for 20 years where along with his his wife Lesli, have raised two children, Andrew and Rachel, who have attended local schools, including Lupin Hill Elementary School, A.E. Wright Middle School and Agoura High School. Peter is an avid outdoorsman who loves hiking, camping and backpacking. Calabasas is his home.
Education
Peter Kraut studied civil engineering for two years and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts.
Employment
Peter Kraut works as a mechanical engineer, specializing in the design of plumbing systems. Licensed and working in 25 states, his project experience includes schools, universities, hospitals, convention centers, aquariums, stadiums, museums, sound stages, amusement park rides and more. He founded South Coast Engineering Group in 2001 and opened his first office in Calabasas where he employs dozens of engineers, designers and draftspersons.
For the past 23 years, Peter Kraut has owned and operated his own firm, South Coast Engineering Group, employing 20 engineers, designers and draftsmen right here in Calabasas.

Experience
Peter Kraut began his Calabasas civic involvement in 2008 serving on the Calabasas General Plan Advisory Committee. Volunteering for 18 months, he helped write the 2030 General Plan, the basis for the Development Code that our City uses today.
He served as a Calabasas Planning Commissioner from 2016-2020 and served as the Vice-Chairperson for the latter two years.
Peter Kraut has served on the Calabasas City Council since 2020.

James Bozajian was raised locally. After graduating from W.H. Taft High School in Woodland Hills, James received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from UCLA and a Juris Doctor degree from USC School of Law.

James Bozajian has been an attorney since 1990. He has worked for various government agencies, including the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and State Compensation Insurance Fund.

David Shapiro has served on the Calabasas City Council since January 25, 2012 and served as the City's Mayor from 2014-2015, a second term as Mayor 2018-2019 and his 3rd term as Mayor 2020-2023.
Shapiro serves as a City Council Liaison for the City’s schools, on School Site Safety as part of the School Area Traffic and Safety Committee, is School and PFC Liaison for the City Council. He also serves on the Emergency Preparedness Public Safety, and Communications Committees for the City. Mayor Shapiro has served on the Budget Committee for the past 8 years. Shapiro is also a representative on the Clean Power Alliance (CPA) working toward providing renewable and clean energy in the City of Calabasas and beyond. Mayor Shapiro was a member of the Senior Task Force to help design and build the Calabasas Senior Center.
Mayor Shapiro was recently re-elected to the Regional Council for Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) representing our 5 COG Cities. Shapiro also has served on a SCAG committee for CEHD for the past 6 years, working on many issues including housing, transportation, and sustainability, and has been re-elected to leadership of SCAG. He has served on the Valley Economic Alliance Board of Governors for over 14 years. He was also recently re-appointed for an 8th year to the League of California Cities Policy Committee, addressing statewide issues of housing and homelessness, parks and children. Mayor Shapiro supports philanthropic causes, including being an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Calabasas, served as the Captain of the City of Calabasas Relay for Life Team for 8 years Habitat for Humanity, Cordasco Something Yellow Foundation, Loving Home Hospice for Children, and Golden West ALS.
Prior to being elected to the City Council, Shapiro served as President/Chair of the Calabasas Library Commission for 6 years and helped design the Calabasas Library. As President/Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission, he helped open 5 parks in our City and brought forward the Joint Use Agreement with our schools. He was on the first two Civic Center Advisory Committees that helped develop and design the Calabasas Civic Center and Library, served as a Board Member of the Joint Powers Authority for the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center for 12 years and was Vice-President of the Community Center Alliance for over 11 years.
Shapiro has coached youth sports for over 16 years. Shapiro, an attorney, relocated his practice to Calabasas shortly after moving to Calabasas in 1994. Mayor Shapiro and his wife Barbara have 3 children, all who attended local schools. Mayor Shapiro spearheaded the Foundation of the Mayors Youth Council in 2019 in order to enable youth ages 14-21 to learn and lead in our City. Shapiro also led the charge to open the Veterans Garden in 2019 to have and remember all those who have and continue to serve.
