Spotlight on Parks, Recreation & Education Commission
High-quality parks, recreational programs, and educational opportunities are essential to maintaining a vibrant, healthy, and connected community. The Parks, Recreation & Education Commission helps shape these priorities by advising the City Council on park maintenance and improvements, recreational programming, long-range planning, and educational initiatives. Through collaboration with residents, schools, community organizations, and government agencies, the Commission works to enhance public spaces, expand opportunities for lifelong learning, and ensure Calabasas continues to meet the evolving needs of current and future generations.

The Parks, Recreation & Education Commission includes Julie Elginer, Anita McQuillan, Brad Klein, Jenn Jasbi, Negin Ghaffari, Patti Mardell, Richard Sherman and Rachel Lowe – Student Commissioner. EV Charging Station Implementation through PACE
As electric vehicles become more common, home charging stations can add convenience and long-term value. Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing may be used for eligible EV charging installations, helping homeowners support cleaner transportation choices. Expanding access to EV charging helps reduce vehicle-related emissions and improve local air quality over time. Find out more about home EV charging station permits.



Lego Day On July 17th
The Calabasas Library invites families to enjoy an afternoon of hands-on fun during Lego Day on Friday, July 17th, from 12 to 3 p.m. Children may use the Library's Legos to build their own creations. LeXT Robo Academy will be presenting their World Championship robot along with other robotics that their teams made last season. No reservations are required. Find out more about Lego Day here.



Saturday Game Day On July 18th
Explore, play, and discover during Saturday Game Day on July 18th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Children's Room of the Calabasas Library. Discover our Rube Goldberg STEM machines and fun games to play! No reservations are required. Find out more about Saturday Game Day here.



Summer Concert Series: Jumping Jack Flash (Rolling Stones Tribute Band) on July 19th
The 2026 Sunsets Summer Concert Series continues on Sunday, July 19th, at the Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center. Beginning at 6 p.m., Jumping Jack Flash, a high-energy Rolling Stones tribute band, will perform an evening of classic rock under the stars. Known for getting audiences on their feet singing and dancing to timeless hits, Jumping Jack Flash captures the energy and excitement of one of rock 'n' roll's most iconic bands. Admission is free. The Power of Parks & Recreation: Soar & Explore Sensory Day on July 22nd
Engage the senses and spark curiosity at The Power of Parks & Recreation: Soar & Explore Sensory Day on Wednesday, July 22nd, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., at Gates Canyon Park. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to enjoy interactive activities designed to encourage exploration, learning, and sensory engagement in a fun and welcoming outdoor setting. Summer Dive In Movie Nights: Lilo & Stitch on July 24th
Enjoy an evening of family fun at Dive-In Movie Night featuring Lilo & Stitch on Friday, July 24th, from 7:30 to 10 p.m., at the Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center. Kick off the evening with music, games, and prizes, then settle in for a family-friendly movie by the pool. Admission is $5 per person, and children ages 2 and under are free. Registration is required. Outside food and drinks are not permitted, but food will be available for purchase from Dog R - LA during the event. Make your reservation here.



Calabasas Beach Bus Summer Giveaways
Ride the Calabasas Beach Bus this summer and you will have the chance to win one of six Beach Day Swag Bags filled with summer essentials, including a tote bag, beach ball, water bottle, La La Land gift card, and more.
