E-Waste Roundup on Saturday, June 6th
Reminder: The next e-Waste Collection will be held on Saturday, June 6th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Please note: Business waste will not be accepted.

Accepted Items: Televisions, monitors, printers, copiers, computers, laptops, servers, network switches, routers, mixed cables, power tools, remote controls, keyboards, computer accessories, plotters, cell phones, wired phones, cellphone and laptop batteries, and media such as records, tapes, CDs, and film.
Unaccepted Items: Light fixtures, vacuum cleaners, small appliances, microwave ovens, dishwashers, freezers, refrigerators, alkaline batteries, light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, ballasts, and similar items.
This event is independently managed by California Recycles Inc.
To support residents in properly disposing of items year-round, the City offers and promotes a variety of free recycling programs. For additional waste disposal information, including accepted materials and battery recycling, please go here.
Summer Dive-In Movie Nights Begin on Friday, June 26th
Dive into summer fun at Dive-In Movie Night featuring Disney Pixar’s Luca on Friday, June 26th, at the Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center (23400 Park Sorrento). Doors open at 7:30 p.m., with poolside entertainment and the movie running from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Guests can enjoy a family-friendly film under the stars, along with food available for purchase from Dog.R LA. Admission is $5 per person, and children ages 2 and under are free.
Registration is required, so reserve your spot early. For an enhanced experience, private movie cabanas are available for $126 and include lounge seating, four movie tickets, beach towels, prize giveaway tickets, and exclusive movie-night treats. Get your tickets here.
June 2nd Primary Election Preliminary Results
The California Primary Election was held on June 2nd. Although there are many ballots still to be tabulated, preliminary results are available from the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder. View the latest updated numbers LA County and California.
Spotlight on Public Safety Commission
The City of Calabasas Public Safety Commission plays an important role in helping to keep the community informed, prepared, and safe. Serving in an advisory capacity to the City Council, the Commission provides recommendations on matters related to public safety, crime and fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and public safety service contracts. The Public Safety Commission is where I myself first became involved in Calabasas civic affairs, serving as a Council-appointed Commissioner from 1993 to 1997.
The Public Safety Commission includes Sharon Boucher, Jeff Piraino, Brian Cameron, Joe Chilco, Norma Citron (CERT Representative), Matt Slatoff, and Lauren Weintraub (Student Member). Staff support is provided by Public Safety Director Michael Dyer and the Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. Learn more about the Public Safety Commission.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Hybrid Training
Be prepared to help yourself, your family, and your community during emergencies by participating in the City of Calabasas Community Emergency Response Team’s (CERT) Hybrid Training. Residents will learn valuable skills in disaster preparedness, fire safety, basic medical operations, search and rescue, and more. Participants must complete eight online training modules before August 1st, 2026, and attend an in-person training session on August 1st at the Calabasas Community Center. Those who complete both portions of the program will receive a CERT certificate and backpack. Recent Community Events
Participants compete at the Ultimate Toss Tour Cornhole Tournament held at the Calabasas Community Center on May 31st.
Calabasas resident Rayen Chan works on helping to beautify the historic Park Moderne Bird Path on May 31st. Rayen is working on this project as part of his Eagle Scout project.
