Your City at Work
Speed Limit Sign Changes
The City of Calabasas continues to implement updated speed limits citywide as part of an ongoing effort to enhance roadway safety. Speed limit signs will be adjusted at various locations throughout the City, with changes already in effect on Lost Hills Road and Las Virgenes Road in April, and additional updates coming citywide in May. Residents may notice posted speed limits reduced by 5 to 10 miles per hour based on detailed engineering and traffic studies.
These updates are designed to better protect residents, pedestrians, and all road users. In addition, select school zones are being reduced to 20 mph when children are present, and drivers are reminded that a 25 mph school zone limit may apply even without posted signage.
During the first 15 days following each change, law enforcement will focus on education and awareness to help drivers adjust, followed by standard enforcement. Please watch for new signage and drive safely. View the Speed Limit Map and find Additional information is available on the City website.
Calabasas Road Roundabout Project
The West Calabasas Road Roundabout Project will kick off in mid-June 2026 and is expected to take approximately 6 to 8 months to complete. The project includes construction of a new roundabout with new pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalks to improve traffic flow and create safer pedestrian access in the area. Motorists should expect delays during construction, and signage will be posted in advance of any road closures. Find out more about this project.
