City Receives Operational Excellence Award from Granicus
Calabasas is honored to be recognized for exceptional achievement in Operational Excellence in the 15th Annual Granicus Digital Government Awards. The City’s transition from a time-intensive, paper-based Tennis and Swim Center membership waitlist to a streamlined digital workflow reflects a strong commitment to fairness, transparency, and an improved resident experience.“The initiative by Calabasas demonstrates the significance of effective design in daily operations,” said Mike Hubbard, Granicus Vice President of Implementation Services. “The team reduced manual sorting time, established clear expectations for residents, and set a new standard of fairness, illustrating that operational enhancements can be both straightforward and transformative.”
This transformation has reduced manual workload, improved efficiency, and ensured residents have clear, reliable information about their status. It highlights how thoughtful digital innovation can enhance everyday services and build trust within the community. Learn more about the Granicus Awards here.
Calabasas Road Roundabout Project
The West Calabasas Road Roundabout Project will bring roadway expansion, drainage upgrades, new sidewalk connections, bike lane extensions, traffic enhancements, and aesthetic improvements to the area. Construction is scheduled to begin in late spring and will take approximately 6 to 8 months to complete. Signage will be posted in advance of any road closures. Find out more about this project.Speed Limit Sign Changes
The City of Calabasas continues to implement updated speed limits citywide as part of an ongoing effort to enhance roadway safety. Speed limit signs will be adjusted at various locations throughout the City, with changes already in effect on Lost Hills Road and Las Virgenes Road in April, and additional updates coming citywide in May. Residents may notice posted speed limits reduced by 5 to 10 miles per hour based on detailed engineering and traffic studies. These updates are designed to better protect residents, pedestrians, and all road users. In addition, select school zones are being reduced to 20 mph when children are present, and drivers are reminded that a 25 mph school zone limit may apply even without posted signage. During the first 15 days following each change, law enforcement will focus on education and awareness to help drivers adjust, followed by standard enforcement.
Please watch for new signage and drive safely.
View the Speed Limit Map.

PACE Program- Water
Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing offers homeowners a way to fund eligible home improvements, with repayment over time through their property tax bill. PACE-supported upgrades help homeowners save energy and water while supporting cleaner air, reduced emissions, and long-term community sustainability. In May, the spotlight is on water. Water-efficient home upgrades can reduce water use, improve landscaping, and enhance curb appeal, especially in California’s drought-prone climate. Eligible improvements may include drought-tolerant landscaping, efficient irrigation systems, and water-saving fixtures.
These upgrades not only conserve local water supplies but also reduce the energy needed to pump, treat, and deliver water. Learn more about water-efficient home upgrade financing here.

The 2026 theme, Built to Last, highlights the role of safe, resilient, and accessible buildings in supporting strong communities. Throughout the month, weekly themes focus on key aspects of building safety, including practical steps homeowners can take to improve safety at home, recognition of the professionals who help keep our communities safe, the importance of disaster preparedness and resilient building codes, and the value of accessibility in building design and construction. Additional resources and safety tips are also available to help homeowners, builders, and the general public better understand and apply these principles. Learn more about Building Safety Month.
