As March arrives, so does a sense of renewal, and with it, a full calendar of events and updates that I am excited to share with you. From fire safety and emergency preparedness to tree plantings, egg hunts, and a sustainability summit, there is something happening in Calabasas for everyone this month. I am proud of what our community continues to build together, and I look forward to seeing you out there.

Events and Programs this Month

E-Waste Collection – Saturday, March 7
- The City of Calabasas, in partnership with California Recycles, hosts free E-Waste Collection events on the first Saturday of every month at the Creekside Calabasas (Albertson’s) back parking lot, 26521 Agoura Road, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Accepted items include: Televisions, monitors, printers, cell phones, laptops, keyboards, and servers.

Emergency Preparedness Event – Sunday, March 15
In partnership with EPIC-FSC (Emergency Preparedness in Calabasas – A Fire Safe Council), the City is hosting an Emergency Preparedness Event for residents on Sunday, March 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Calabasas Community Center, 27040 Malibu Hills Road
It is about more than just radios. Attendees will learn about:
- Ready-Set-Go: Emergency preparedness and evacuation information
- Home Hardening: Free home evaluations available to schedule, providing suggestions to minimize fire risk.
- Know Your Zone: Genasys Protect and City emergency alerts.
- How to use your emergency radio correctly: Training provided by Sheriff’s Department Disaster Communications volunteers.
- Free FRS radios are available only to residents with home or business addresses within a Calabasas Evacuation Zone (CAL-C401 through CAL-C415). To request your free radio, complete the form on the EPIC website.

Crime Prevention Symposium – Monday, March 16
- Crime Prevention Symposium Monday, March 16 Stop by our Crime Prevention Symposium on Monday, March 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Founders Hall in the Calabasas Civic Center.
- Join representatives from local and federal law enforcement for updates on current crime trends, residential burglary and commercial theft prevention, and practical safety tips for homes and businesses

City Council Meeting – Wednesday, March 11
- Join us for the next Calabasas City Council meeting on Wednesday, March 11, at 6:30 p.m.
- City Council meetings are a valuable opportunity to learn about local issues, share your feedback, and engage in the decisions shaping our city.

Arbor Day Celebration – Saturday, March 21
- Mark your calendar for our annual Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at Gates Canyon Park, 25801 Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
- Participants will take part in a community tree planting, supporting the City’s dedication to a greener future. The event is free and open to all residents.

2026 Sustainability Summit – Saturday, March 28
- Building on our commitment to environmental stewardship, we are pleased to co-host the Calabasas Sustainability Summit: Inspiring the Next Generation of Climate Leaders on Saturday, March 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Calabasas Civic Center.
- This student-centered event will feature interactive presentations from leading sustainability organizations, project exhibits, and workshops showcasing a cleaner, greener future. Attendees can enjoy plant-based food sampling booths demonstrating sustainable, everyday choices.

Bunny Trail Junior Egg Hunt – Saturday, March 28
- Spring fun is just around the corner! Join us for the Bunny Trail Junior Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at Juan Bautista de Anza Park, 3701 Lost Hills Road. Designed for children 8 and under, families will travel the trail loop to visit farm animals, hunt for eggs, enjoy crafts, and hop through a bunny obstacle course.
- The event also features a Recreation Showcase with upcoming classes and a chance to meet instructors. Start times are every 10 minutes from 9 to 11:50 a.m. Cost is $10 per child. Space is limited and the event typically sells out — register early!

Springtime at the Adobe – Saturday, March 28
- Celebrate the season at the Leonis Adobe Museum’s Springtime at the Adobe on Saturday, March 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 23537 Calabasas Road. See the Adobe’s gardens in bloom and meet the newest additions to the rancho — the spring lambs!
- The afternoon features 1880s-themed activities, live music, seasonal crafts, and a festive scavenger hunt. Admission is $10 per person. Museum members and children under two enter free.

City Updates

May 5 Special Election – Public Safety and City Services Measure
- The City of Calabasas has placed a local measure on a special election ballot on May 5, 2026. This measure would create a locally controlled funding source to help maintain essential city services and provide long-term financial stability for Calabasas.
- Residents will have opportunities to learn more through community meetings, City communications, and informational materials in the coming weeks.
