As we turn the calendar to November, our community continues to come together through events that encourage learning, connection and care for both people and place. From staying active and healthy at the Calabasas Community Center to protecting our environment through cleanups and safe disposal events, there are many ways to get involved this month. As the days grow shorter and the season shifts, let’s take time to support one another, stay prepared and enjoy all that Calabasas has to offer.
Stay Active with a Gym 2 Gym Membership
The City of Calabasas offers two convenient monthly membership options for residents who enjoy staying active and connected. Both options include access to fitness and recreation spaces at local facilities, such as weight rooms, cardio equipment and open play for pickleball, basketball and volleyball, as well as priority registration for classes at the Calabasas Community Center.
Those who enjoy group fitness can upgrade to the Gym 2 Gym with Premier Pass, which adds unlimited access to yoga, spin, cardio dance and body-sculpting classes.
Memberships are available for adults, seniors, youth and families. Learn more about the memberships and register.

Making a Difference: Agoura Animal Care Center
Throughout November, I will be highlighting a few of our many local organizations that work diligently to support our community, encourage volunteerism and give back in meaningful ways.
The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care & Control serves our area through the Agoura Animal Care Center located at 29525 Agoura Road. The Center provides vital services for pets and people alike, including adoption programs, spay/neuter and vaccination services and neighborhood field services that ensure the well-being of animals in our community.
If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity, the Animal Care Center welcomes help in a variety of ways! Volunteers age 16 or older can make a difference by assisting with adoption support, animal care and socialization, administrative tasks and more. There are also longer-term opportunities, such as fostering, that provide animals with temporary homes and companionship until they can find a permanent home.
We are grateful for the effort of the Animal Care Center and our community members who make a difference in the lives of people and furry friends.
The Center is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stop by or visit their website to learn more about how you can get involved.
