He also directs the City’s Cultural Heritage Commission, which was established following grassroots efforts to save the Leonis Adobe in 1962.</p><p style="text-align: center;">He will discuss the impact of historic preservation and his award-winning book&nbsp;<i>Preserving Los Angeles: How Historic Places Can Transform America’s Cities</i>, which tells this under-appreciated L.A. story: how historic preservation has been transforming neighborhoods, creating a Downtown renaissance, and guiding the future of the city. &nbsp;Signed copies will be available for purchase.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Light refreshments will be provided.
