Expert Insights into History Speaker Series: Ken Bernstein, Principal City Planner for the Los Angeles City Planning Department
Tuesday, May 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the Multi-purpose room.
Join us for a discussion and book signing with Ken Bernstein, Principal City Planner for Los Angeles City Planning, where he leads the department’s Office of Historic Resources. He also directs the City’s Cultural Heritage Commission, which was established following grassroots efforts to save the Leonis Adobe in 1962.
He will discuss the impact of historic preservation and his award-winning book Preserving Los Angeles: How Historic Places Can Transform America’s Cities, which tells this under-appreciated L.A. story: how historic preservation has been transforming neighborhoods, creating a Downtown renaissance, and guiding the future of the city. Signed copies will be available for purchase.
Light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited. No reservations required.

Sponsored by the Leonis Adobe Museum and co-sponsored by the Calabasas Library.
