A femtocell is a small cellular base station, typically designed for use in a
home or small business. It connects to the service provider’s network via
broadband (such as DSL or cable); The typical coverage is 5,000 SQF or 40 FT
radius and can support up to 5 concurrent devices. A femtocell allows service
providers to extend cell phone service coverage indoors, especially where access
would otherwise be limited or unavailable. |

New Solid Waste Franchise
Haulers
The City Council recently awarded three separate exclusive franchise
agreements to trash haulers:
-
two
7-year franchise agreements for trash collection from all residential and
commercial properties to Waste Management/GI Industries, and
-
a
5-year franchise agreement for temporary/roll-off container services to
Crown Disposal, Inc.
Effective March 1,
2009, all construction sites owners and contractors shall utilize
the hauling services of Crown Disposal, Inc. Operation of all other commercial
and roll-off hauling companies will be illegal in Calabasas.
