WHY WE WALKED
We walked for twenty-four hours straight.
To some it seemed silly, but for us
it was a symbolic gesture.
We walked to thank those who donated
so generously to our efforts and to prove to them, and to ourselves,
that we are dedicated to helping find a cure for cancer.
Many of our team members have had
cancer strike our families or friends out of the blue on some random
Tuesday afternoon. We walked to help prevent that unthinkable from
happening to others.
We walked for our parents, our
grandparents, our siblings, our children, our spouses, our aunts, our
uncles, our cousins, our friends and everyone who has been touched by
cancer.
We walked in support of those going
through radiation, chemotherapy and clinical trials and their families
fighting everyday with them.
We walked to celebrate with the
survivors and in memory of those who lost their battles.
We walked to raise awareness, to help
pay for research and testing, and to make ourselves healthier.
We walked to celebrate
life with our friends and family.
We walked because we
can.
We walked for more people in the
survivor lap and less memorial candles next year.
We walked in the hope that someday
there wont need to be a walk.
