The A.E. Wright Footbridge
project was completed in December of 2010. It is 200-foot
long, 12-foot wide footbridge that spans Las Virgenes Creek
and connects A.E. Wright Middle School and Lost Hills Rd.
The bridge provides a shorter distance for students and
residents wishing to access the school or Las Virgenes Road
from areas west of Las Virgenes Creek. It is a safe and
convenient alternative to the primary pick-up/drop-off areas
accessed from Las Virgenes Road. The bridge has been heavily
used by both students and residents in the surrounding
neighborhoods. Every afternoon approximately 115 to 135
students cross the bridge to continue to the bus stop, their
residence and, for some of them, to get picked up. The
project was fully funded with federal support through the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and is now closed. |
