LIBRARY & PROGRAM SCHEDULES IN NOVEMBER

In addition to regularly scheduled closures, the Library will be closed on Friday, November 11, Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. The tutoring programs are limited in November due to the holidays. Please check the library calendar for more details.

Pumpkin Patch Story Time will be returning to their regular programming (3-6 years old: Thursdays at 1:30 p.m./up to 3 years old: Fridays at 11:00 a.m.). Pumpkin Patch Story Time will be cancelled on November 11 and 25.

YOGA & YOU AT THE LIBRARY 

De-stress on your lunch hour! Join us for a relaxing yoga session on Thursdays, November 3 and November 17 at noon. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat/large towel, and join our wonderful instructor Deanne Wenger, RYT at the Library! No experience is necessary and all are welcome. This program is free, however a valid library card is required to participate.

BOOK CLUBS AT THE LIBRARY

Considering joining a book club? The Library has you covered!

Stop by the Library at 11:00 a.m. on November 16 for Wednesday Morning Book Club. This month's discussion will be on 11/22/1963 written by Stephen King. The Wednesday Morning Book Club meets each month on the third Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m.

The Second Thursday Book Club will be meeting on November 10 at 6:00 p.m. The group will be discussing A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. Membership in the Book Club is free, however a valid library card is required to participate.

FILM FANATICS

Do you know a film fanatic? Send them to the Library on Wednesday, November 16! The Film Fanatics will be meeting at 6:00 p.m. to watch a movie. Patrons are welcome to bring a dinner to enjoy during the movie.

PET PARTNERS: READ WITH ME

Is your child's reading going to the dogs? Let's hope so! Bring your new and emerging reader (grades K-3) to the Library on Saturday, November 5, to share in a unique reading program. Therapy dogs, trained through Paws 4 Healing, will sit (or lie!) and listen while your child experiences the joy of reading aloud. Each child will have 15 minutes to read. Sign-ups begin at 11:00 a.m. and the program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

GAME DAY FUN

Drop in the Library's multi-purpose room anytime between 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9 to play exciting board games! The games will focus on cognitive processing speed. The Library participates in this monthly game series that focuses on different learning skills through play for children.

BE CREATIVE WITH LEDS

Be creative with LEDs! Elementary school age kids are welcome to create cards and use other materials to learn simple circuitry. Participants can meet in the Library's multipurpose room from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 17.

LIBRARY TIP OF THE MONTH: CLOUD LIBRARY

Attention e-book readers! 3M Cloud Library has been changed to Cloud Library. It’s the same service, just a slightly different look. The app will still be red and white but will say “CL” instead. If you haven’t updated your device for the new app, please do. It is easy, seamless and you don’t have to log in again. Remember OneClickdigital also has e-books of the classics, business and computer genres, as well as other non-fiction titles.

BOOK OF THE MONTH: THE WISH

This month we highlight The Wish by Gail Carson Levine. This book is suitable for 4th through 8th graders.

In The Wish, middle school student, Wilma, makes a wish to be popular. She gets her wish and then has to decide if this is what she really wants. She learns valuable lessons including "To thine own self be true."

The author Gail Carson Levine has written many popular books, such as Ella Enchanted.
