Sample Ballot Confusion?

Some registered voters in Los Angeles County, including some Calabasas residents, have not received their ballots and others who have received them mistakenly believe that that the Vote by Mail instructions are their sample ballots.

According to the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, "some Vote by Mail (VBM) voters have received their VBM packets, but have not yet received their Sample Ballots. Please note that Los Angeles County now has more active voters (5,102,6023) than ever before. Additionally, the number of measures and contests on the ballot this year increased the size -- and thus production -- of the Sample Ballot this year.

The Department began mailing out over 5 million Sample Ballot booklets to voters for the November 8th Presidential General Election on September 29th. This ongoing process continues in earnest and all remaining Sample Ballots will be sent to the postal service this week to be delivered to voters aligned to the required timeline required by the Elections Code. The Department has made every effort to ensure that this material gets to the voters as soon as possible."

Any voter that has not received his or her Sample Ballot can look it up on the Department's website at: https://www.lavote.net/locator
