A once-in-a-lifetime event will happen in Calabasas this Friday morning and you’re invited to share in the fun and excitement!

The Flame of Hope, the official torch for the Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015, will be carried through Calabasas on the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg, culminating in a ceremony to be held at Calabasas Civic Center.

The Torch Run is taking place in anticipation of the Special Olympics World Games which will begin July 25, 2015 at locations throughout Southern California, featuring more than 7,000 athletes from 177 countries.

The event is FREE so come cheer on these inspirational athletes!

The Torch runners will leave the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center at approximately 10:30 a.m. and will then run down Park Granada to Calabasas Road to Civic Center Way.

Come out and encourage the Special Olympic and Law Enforcement runners along the route and at the Civic Center ceremony taking place at approximately 10:55 a.m.

Please be advised that Civic Center Way will be closed on Friday, July 17 and there will be parking and traffic restrictions along the route. Spectators are advised to arrive early; parking will be available in the Calabasas Civic Center parking lot accessible from Park Sorrento.
