A once-in-a-lifetime event will
happen in Calabasas this Friday
morning and you’re invited to share
in the fun and excitement!
The Flame of Hope, the official
torch for the Special Olympics World
Games Los Angeles 2015, will be
carried through Calabasas on the Law
Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg,
culminating in a ceremony to be held
at Calabasas Civic Center.
The Torch Run is taking place in
anticipation of the Special Olympics
World Games which will begin July
25, 2015 at locations throughout
Southern California, featuring more
than 7,000 athletes from 177
The event is FREE so come cheer on
these inspirational athletes!
The Torch runners will leave the
Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center at
approximately 10:30 a.m. and will
then run down Park Granada to
Calabasas Road to Civic Center Way.
Come out and encourage the Special
Olympic and Law Enforcement runners
along the route and at the Civic
Center ceremony taking place at
approximately 10:55 a.m.
Please be advised that Civic Center
Way will be closed on Friday, July
17 and there will be parking and
traffic restrictions along the
route. Spectators are advised to
arrive early; parking will be
available in the Calabasas Civic
Center parking lot accessible from
