Calabasas Brushfire 80% Contained, All Evacuations Lifted Today at 6pm

UPDATE - CALABASAS HIGH SCHOOL WILL BE OPEN TOMORROW - MONDAY, JUNE 6


The brushfire that scorched 516 acres in Calabasas is 80% contained and all evacuated areas and all roads to all areas will be reopened this evening at 6pm.

Officials state that 1 commercial structure was destroyed along with 4 sheds, but no residences were damaged or destroyed.

Viewpoint School and Calabasas Creekside Klubhouse Preschool will be CLOSED tomorrow, Monday June 6. Calabasas High School and both Montessori of Calabasas Preschools will be OPEN.

"We are grateful to the Los Angeles County firefighters who have been able to contain this fire quickly and with minimal property losses," said Calabasas Mayor James R. Bozajian. "We also appreciate our residents' high degree of compliance with the directions of emergency personnel, and encourage everyone to continue to be patient as we work toward getting things back to normal here."
