PARDON OUR DUST - LAS VIRGENES
ROAD CONSTRUCTION |
Those
of you that regularly drive on Las Virgenes Road have been feeling the
effects of the recent construction. What you are experiencing is
development of the Las Virgenes Corridor Master Plan. Although
the current construction is a nuisance, the end result will be a
beautiful new corridor through Calabasas. New striping was
recently added to help ease traffic congestion. Once the work is
complete, Las Virgenes Road will have
newly designed center medians with attractive landscaping in
accordance with the Master Plan. Construction on Las Virgenes
Road
began in November 2003 and is expected to be complete in March 2004.
When median construction is complete, the road will receive a new
overlay of asphalt in Spring 2004. |

TRAFFIC
BUSTERS AWARD CEREMONY |
|
The Traffic and Transportation Commission recently presented members
of the Calabasas Traffic Busters Club with certificates to
reward them for walking, riding their bikes and carpooling to school.
The students and their parents have made a great contribution in
cutting down on morning and afternoon traffic in front of schools in
the City, and they've gotten some good exercise in the process!

The Traffic and Transportation Department has been working closely
with the Calabasas Parent Faculty Associations and students to
publicize the new club and to encourage participation. Jaimi
Garcia, a Traffic and Transportation intern, has been largely
responsible for ensuring the success of the Traffic Busters by
going out to the schools and promoting the program. For more
information on Traffic Busters, call the Traffic and Transportation
Department at 818.878.4225. |
