FOR MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL
MARTHA FRITZ
Occupation:
Chair, Planning Commission

It is my hope that Calabasas will continue to flourish as an outstanding residential community, with safe neighborhoods, excellent schools and natural resources conserved and enjoyed by our citizens. I have devoted myself to these goals as a three-term Calabasas Planning Commissioner, advocate for Art in Public Places and Lupin Hill School PFC board member.

My first priority is the fiscal strength of our city in the face of California’s tribulations. I have been a businesswoman since 1985, and serve on the board of Tinius Olsen, a successful engineering company. I know first-hand why it is vital to create a positive climate for business in Calabasas.
I am devoted to open space conservation and maintaining our parks and safe neighborhoods. I will work with my fellow council members to ensure that the high level of service from the Sheriff’s Department continues to make Calabasas one of the safest places to live in our region. While being responsive to citizens’ concerns, I will continue to uphold the vision of the updated General Plan that protects our city’s priorities.

As a board member of the Lupin Hill PFC and as a concerned Parent of three children, I have worked with City Council members to increase vital funding to our schools. I was instrumental in formulating the idea of having the city give direct monetary support to the Parent Faculty Clubs throughout the city. This has been essential for protecting our specialist programs and our outstanding schools.

I seek to promote high quality art in public exhibits and to broaden participation in all of the cultural offerings in our city. Calabasas is a marvelous place to live and raise a family, and I believe it takes vigilance, caring and persistence to fulfill the vision of our many founders.

As a Council Member, I will strive to be a consensus builder. I aim to earn your vote on the campaign trail and invite your ideas and support to help maintain our high standards of excellence in Calabasas.
