BOB SIBILIA
Age: 46
Occupation: Consumer Attorney
Primary goal: Make
Calabasas the premier community to raise a family in Southern
California. All citizens benefit by strengthening our
property values and ensuring a safe community.
Calabasas needs
experienced, proven local leadership. These are my past and
present affiliations in Calabasas:
Mayor
City Councilman
Parks and Recreation Commissioner
Agoura/Calabasas Community Center JPA Chairman/Board Member
CPHA Board Member
"Principal for the Day" Bay Laurel and A.E. Wright Schools
Teen Court Judge
Member Calabasas Wall of Fame, located in City Hall
Member Calabasas Chamber of Commerce
My wife Ellen and I
moved to Calabasas in 1991, to provide our children with an
excellent public school education, in a safe, small-town
atmosphere. Our girls attended Bay Laurel Elementary School,
A.E. Wright, A.C. Stelle Middle Schools and now Calabasas High
School. I will create a stronger, cooperative tie with the
Las Virgenes Unified School District, to collectively work for our
children and community.
As Parks and
Recreation Commissioner I helped develop the Parks Master Plan.
I supported the creation of the now successful joint use agreement
with the LVUSD which has provided badly needed playing fields and
recreational resources for our City's youth and adults, while
preserving our precious open spaces for passive, unintrusive uses.
I will advocate a
Youth Master Plan, providing more creative, nurturing programs for
our young people, and involve them in the planning process.
Traffic congestion
remains unacceptable. I will not bow down to developers who
prioritize profits, increase traffic and adversely impact our
valued quality of life in Calabasas. I will continue my long
stance of supporting only slow, controlled growth.
Many vital Council
decisions regarding litigation and land-use are made out of public
view, in closed session. With my eighteen years experience
as a civil litigator, in both California and Hawaii and expertise
as a licensed California real estate broker, I will make informed,
educated decisions, always with the best interests of Calabasas in
mind.
Once back in office,
I pledge to adhere to the highest standards of ethics and
professionalism, respectful of both colleagues and opponents and
receptive to the ideas of our citizens.
It would be my honor
and privilege to once again serve as a member of the Calabasas
City Council. Contact me at (818) 591-1812 or
BringBackBob@aol.com to
discuss any issue. I respectfully ask for your vote on March
8, 2005.
Vote Bob Sibilia.
A change, without taking a chance.
