DISASTER MANAGEMENT

Operational Area B

The County of Los Angeles is broken down into 8 operational areas.  The cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Lancaster, Malibu, Palmdale, Santa Clarita, Westlake Village constitute Disaster Management Area B and work closely with the LA County Office of Emergency Services.

This group meets on a monthly basis and is responsible for:

  • Creating and updating emergency, terrorism, recovery volunteer, debris management and hazard mitigation plans.  

  • Training for emergency and disaster preparedness for cities, residents and businesses.

  • Technology for Communications

  • Homeland Security Grants Program

The Joint Powers Agreement for Area B provides for inter-agency cooperation in major natural or man-made disasters.
