James F. Wright

Jame Wright
Author James F. Wright with host Karyn Foley at the Calabasas Library discussing his Comic Book Series, "Nutmeg Comic Book Series.

NutmegComic book author James F. Wright the co-creator (with artist Jackie Crofts) of Nutmeg, a coming-of-age culinary crime comic which debuted in April 2015.

Nutmeg is about a pair of junior high school girls, Poppy and Cassia, who get in way over their heads when they concoct batches of super addictive brownies. The series is 15 total chapters.

James' main focus and passion in writing is comics books. Growing up both his mom and dad encouraged reading in all forms, including comics, and that was key to fostering a love of reading. Which in turn led to a love of writing.

Above all else, his favorite things about writing comics are the pure, unbridled creativity they allow, and the collaborative aspect: two minds (or more) working together to create one lasting piece of art. When done well, it's impossible to know where one creator ends and the other begins.

In his writings, James wants to see more heroes from among people who don't always get to play that role. If he can help contribute to that, and tell a good story at the same time, then that's what he wants to do.
