Sheriff’s Officer Mike
Raines (below, in the blue shirt), who was seriously injured in a motorcycle
accident on duty in March 2007, ceremoniously placed melted-gun steel rebar
at the new City Hall on August 23, 2007. The steel rebar came from the
recent Project Isaiah melting in June of illegal guns confiscated by law enforcement. The Project Isaiah steel was placed in the future Council Chambers
at the new City Hall. Lost Hills Captain Tom Martin joined City Manager Tony
Coroalles, Sheriffs officials, City staff and the Civic Center Construction
crew in marking the recovery
of Officer Raines. The City is honored to have Project Isaiah steel in
the new Civic Center. Officer Raines plans to be back on duty by the end of
the year.
