CDBG FUNDED ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

City of Calabasas CDBG Funded Assistance Programs

The City of Calabasas utilizes its Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to provide housing rehabilitation services to low- and moderate-income residents.  Participation is based on income eligibility limitations (see below) and additional program requirements apply.  Assistance is provided only for Calabasas residents and properties.  Funding is limited, and provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Residential Rehabilitation Program

The Residential Rehabilitation program provides financial assistance for the repair of single family residential properties, including mobile homes on permanent foundations.  Funds are available for direct grants of up to $7,500, and deferred zero percent interest loans of up to $15,000, depending upon housing type and needs.  A wide range of exterior and interior repairs are eligible for funding including plumbing, electrical, roofing, and painting.

To be placed on the waiting list, for a complete list of eligible repairs, and to obtain additional information, please contact John Bingham, Senior Management Analyst at (818) 224-1663 or jbingham@cityofcalabasas.com.

Funding, if approved by the Federal Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD) for the Residential Rehabilitation program, will not be available until July 1, 2014.

To participate in the above listed programs, total household income must not exceed the following income eligibility limits, adjusted for household size:
