Community Blood Drive

9:30a.m. - 3:00p.m.
Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center - 23400 Park Sorrento, 91302
(comfortable, air conditioned set up located indoors, with plenty of free

Cedar Sinai Hospital is
holding an urgent blood drive in Calabasas on Sunday, August 28. The
hospital is facing a blood shortage after some medical emergencies depleted
their supply.
Walk-Ins
are definitely needed all day - participants are urged to eat first before
donating. For any questions or if anyone is interested in hosting their own
blood drive, please contact Dave at:

Despite some inaccurate assumptions, most people ARE definitely
eligible to donate. Common daily medications are okay - blood pressure,
cholesterol, birth control, antidepressants, Viagra, Vicodin, Valium, even
diabetics who take insulin are okay to donate. As long as they're not
taking specifically an antibiotic for an infection, they're usually just
fine.
To save someone's life, it only takes about 5-10 minutes for the actual
donation process. You don't need to know your own blood type (we'll do that
for you) and everyone gets a free health check-up through the
"mini-physical" (blood pressure reading, iron test, temp, pulse). There's
free juice & cookies, plenty of water - and all donors receive a voucher for
a FREE pint
of ice cream at Baskin Robbins. |
