Request to waive the requirement for the installation of story poles pursuant to the City of Calabasas Story Pole Procedures in regard to the construction of a 27,857 square-foot single-family residence inclusive of: a basement (including a lounge and media/theater area); a subterranean parking garage; and a storage area. Also proposed is the construction of a 1,200 square-foot pool pavilion with a 5,000 square foot pool and spa; and an 808 square-foot open-trellis tennis pavilion; a sunken tennis court; and, approximately 4,963 square feet of covered porches and balconies. The proposed project on a previously graded pad is located at 25300 Prado de la Magia in the Estates at the Oaks within the Residential, Single-Family (RS) zoning district (APN: 2069-090-051), and within a previously approved subdivision.

Public Hearing Items:

3. (8:00 PM) File No. 160002981. Request for: (1) a Site Plan Review; (2) an Oak Tree Permit; and (3) a Scenic Corridor Permit to allow for construction of a 8,993 sq. ft. single-family residence with a 1,209 sq. ft. basement, an 822 sq. ft. detached garage, a 1,059 sq. ft. detached gym, and an in-ground swimming pool on a previously graded and certified building pad on an existing legal 5-acre lot, located at 3101 Old Topanga Canyon Road, within the Hillside Mountainous (HM) zoning district and Scenic Corridor (SC) overlay zone. This project proposes development of a single-family home on a previously subdivided and graded property zoned for that use, fully conformant with the policies of the adopted Calabasas 2030 General Plan, and adherent to the development standards applicable to the project as promulgated under Title 17 of the Calabasas Municipal Code; accordingly, this project is exempt from the requirements for environmental review, consistent with sections 21083 and 21084 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and sections 15061 and 15303 (Categorical Exemption, Class 3, One Single-family Residence in a Residential Zone) of the CEQA Guidelines. Furthermore, and based upon the facts, analyses, and findings contained in an Initial Study prepared in accordance with section 15063 of the CEQA Guidelines, the exceptions to exemptions provided in section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines do not apply. A Notice of Exemption will be filed, consistent with CEQA Guidelines Section 15062.
