Citizens wishing to address the Commission on any matter not on the
agenda may do so at this time. Speakers are requested to print their
name and address on the form provided. If you wish to be heard on a
listed agenda item, please wait until that point on the agenda. Please
keep your comments to three (3) minutes or less. Under the provisions
of the California Government Code, the Commission is prohibited by law
from discussing or taking immediate action on any item not on the
agenda unless it can be demonstrated to be of an emergency nature, or
the need to take action arose after the posting of the agenda.

2. (7:15 P.M.) Planning for Preservation: Staff will explain
their approach to building an effective historic preservation program,
from designations to creating recognition programs.
3. (7:45 P.M.) Incentives and the Mills Act: Staff will go over
the Mills Act program, which is the biggest incentive for historic
preservation in California, as well as other incentives offered by the
City, State and Federal governments.

4. (8:30 P.M.) Preservation Coordination: Staff will go over the
role of the States Office of Historic Preservation (OHP) and programs
offered by OHP.

Adjournment to the Historic Preservation Commission Meeting of October
8, 2008, at 7:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers.

Commission, you must do so within ten (10) days of the Historic
Preservation Commission action. Please contact the Community
Development Department for information regarding the appeal process.
If you challenge any action of the Historic Preservation Commission in
court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone
else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in
written correspondence delivered to the Historic Preservation
Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing.
A copy of the Historic Preservation Commission agenda packet, staff
reports and supporting documents and any materials related to an
item on this Agenda submitted to the Historic Preservation
Commission after distribution of the agenda packet are available for
review by the public in the Community Development Department located
at Calabasas City Hall, 100 Civic Center Way. City Hall office hours are 7:30 a.m. to
5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. every
Friday. If you have any questions regarding a particular project
please contact the project planner.
If, due to disability, you require special accommodations to attend or
participate in a Historic Preservation Commission meeting, please

one business day prior to the scheduled meeting so staff may assist
