The Los Angeles Sheriff's
Department and the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station will assist the
Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Investigators by conducting a series of
"Sales Laws Compliance" investigations during the months of April and
May, 2005. It is hoped that public awareness of these
investigations will cause all merchants to carefully monitor the age of
all customers. The
penalties for selling alcohol to a minor are as follows:
First Offense - $750-$3000
Second Offense - $1500-$6000 (within one year)
Third Offense - Possible License Suspension (within one year)
All violations are reviewed by the ABC
District Administrator prior to the violator being penalized.
